Gifts of Listed Securities
By making a direct gift of publicly traded securities (including shares, bonds, and mutual funds) to Bide Awhile, you can achieve a far greater tax savings than if you donated cash proceeds from the sale of those securities. A gift of this type can significantly reduce the amount of capital gains tax otherwise payable on the securities.
Your receipt will be issued for the fair market value of the securities on the date they are transferred to Bide Awhile. Please let us know if you would like to make a gift of listed securities to Bide Awhile. It's cost effective and straightforward.
Gifts-in-Kind
Gifts of personal property to Bide Awhile, including real estate, collectables, jewelery, and other treasures, will be valued by an independent appraiser and sold at fair market price. The funds raised will be utilized by Bide Awhile to care for the lost and homeless animals of HRM. Bide Awhile welcomes the opportunity to accept and provide receipts for such gifts.
