June 14 was a day for celebrating! This year our Annual General Meeting was held at our new Shelter. And while this meeting is always a great way for members and friends of Bide Awhile to catch up on the events of the past year; this time our meetings 'location' was the clear signal of a very successful year.
Chris Hornberger (outgoing President) is shown here as she welcomed members and spoke of the dedicated volunteers and staff whose hard work and committment has led to the completion of our new Shelter. She also recognized the major contributors to our building campaign and spoke of the ongoing efforts to reach our financial goals.
Our Executive Director, Darrold Gould, shared rescue and adoption stories of the past year, while committee chairs reported on finances, projects and plans for the year ahead.
The membership approved a full roster of Directors and Brenda Ruggles was voted incoming President.
Directors Charles Baxter and Jaime Waterfield, who have completed their terms, were thanked by Chris for their generous committment of talent and energy over their years of service to the Shelter. Chris who will return to the Board as Past Presdent (ex-officio), was thanked by Yvonne Melanson (Vice-President) for her outstanding leadership, vision and heartfelt dedication to Bide Awhile.
