I'm Found - Rum and Ginger's Story

August 4, 2004 ‑ Prince Rum & Princess Ginger Update

Saying a final goodbye to our 3 cats, Pogo, Tiger & Goldie, all within a year was a heartache we didn't care to repeat. Our daily mantra was "no more animals ‑ it's far too painful when they die". We soon realized, however, how quiet and lonely our house was without pets, so the search began for 2 perfect cats.

Our first stop was Bide Awhile just to "look". We were introduced to the "royals" Prince and Princess ‑ 2 kittens born at the shelter. Although nothing close to what we had in mind (the only criteria they met was being litter mates), the search ended before it began!

Prince Rum and Princess Ginger have been with us now for 2 months and have truly captured our hearts. Rum has grown into quite a stocky fellow, while Ginger is a very petite little girl. Although similar in appearance, they're developing unique personalities...Rum is warm, cuddly and a big baby ‑ Ginger is the leader and caregiver with a bit of an "attitude" who quickly became "Daddy's Girl."

As you can see from the photos, they love being together, but at the same time enjoy people ‑ a definite tribute to the Bide Awhile staff for their care and attention. Our home is no longer quiet nor lonely and we wouldn't have it any other way!
