I'm Found - Bing's Story

Hi Darrold,

After a year of debating the pros and cons and looking online at animal shelter websites, we finally found the perfect cat. I went to meet Bing on Thursday and we picked him up on Friday the 13th, a great day to bring a black cat into your home.

He was small, shy and hesitant, but he came around and was full of affection. After a short car ride home, the first thing he needed was a bath. He had a little accident in his carrier. Once I was done with his bath, the wet and skinny Bing stood on the towel while I tried to
dry him off but he thought his tongue could do a better job than the towel.

Meanwhile, my fiancée brought up all of his new things from the car
and put them in Bing's new room. I let him out of the bathroom and he explored his
surroundings and of all the things, he liked the folded up cardboard boxes
leaning against the wall the best. Under those and a side table is where
his felt safe for the first couple of days.

For the first week, we kept him in his room while we were out or at
work, but now we let him roam around all day without a care. We were
worried we might come home to find the couch picked at, the vases
knocked over, or the plants chewed on, but this cat is really too good
to be true. He doesn't claw at anything or jump up where he shouldn't
be. He is very considerate and respectful of our belongings.

Now that it's been a few weeks, he is comfortable sitting on the couch
watching TV, laying in the windows, and evening coming to bed with us.
He looks so happy to be here and we are happy that he was at Bide
Awhile and that we were lucky enough to find him before someone else
scooped him up.

With all of his love and affection, Bing is a great companion and all
three of us, Bing included, couldn't be happier. He is a joy to have around and
he really makes our apartment feel like home. He is very welcoming and
everyone who comes into our home just loves him. I hope that everyone's adoption
experience is as great as ours has been and I want to thank Bide Awhile
for giving animals like this a chance for a better life.
